新堡市中文学校是在英国注册的一所慈善机构组织(注册编号1139735)，建于1974年。本校是纽卡斯儿及英国东北地区同类学校中规模最大，也是历史最悠久的一所中文学校。班级涵盖从初学者直到HSK和GCSE各个等级。本校也是所有纽卡斯儿中文学校中唯一的EdExcel注册考试中心，为学生们提供考试服务。本校也是曼城领区中文教育贡献奖的五所中文学校获奖者之一。
当年在纽卡斯儿和桑德兰的一班有抱负的华侨，为了让本地的华人子弟有机会学习中国文字、中华文化，热心地创办了新堡市中文学校。四十多年来，在历任校长的领导和老师们无私的奉献，以及历届校董会成员的支持下，学校已经成功地作育了不少英才。
目前学校提供普通话班。普通话班是按照国内的模式，以普通话授课、简体字教学。
Newcastle Chinese School is a charity-funded organisation (Registration No. 1139735) that first opened in 1974. Our school is the largest and oldest Chinese school in Newcastle Upon Tyne and across the North East of England. Our education standards range from beginner to HSK & GCSE. We are the only registered EdExcel exam centre for Chinese studies in the North East of England. We are one of the five Chinese Schools awarded the Chinese Education Dedication Award by The Consulate General of China in Manchester.
Our school was founded by a group of aspiring overseas Chinese from Newcastle upon Tyne and Sunderland. The objective was to provide local Chinese children with the opportunity to learn Chinese characters and culture. For over 40 years, under the leadership of successive principals, the selfless dedication of teachers, and the support of successive school board members, the school has successfully cultivated numerous talents.
The school currently offers Mandarin classes taught in simplified Chinese.
